This student studied intensively with me in person and via Zoom for 2 weeks in preparation for the SJA interview. We learned with a mixture of interactive materials to build rapport and improve his English fluency. These materials involved picture books for conversation, digital pictures, Q & A, quizzes, and using writing materials.At the beginning, he had a habit to speak only in Korean. With each lesson, he quickly replaced it with English phrases of requests and directions.
I prepared him to conduct himself in an appropriate manner by smiling, using positive hand gestures, and being active during class through the activities we used.
He has excellent listening skills, which played a great part in passing the interview for the international school in Jeju. Well done, IVY student!
