This student has been partnered with us approximately for two months to prepare for the upcoming international school admission tests.
Despite the fact the student had a limited amount of time to fully prepare for the tests, we managed to meet required standards for International school.
Our biggest challenge during the preparation was grammar and pronunciation.
In order to get the admissions accepted, we had to focus on the areas that she was struggling with.
When we first started, her basic English skills only allowed simple sentences as well as the grammar.
With the given amount of time, she told us that she was somewhat prepared for the interview as she had an extra teacher to cover that.
Therefore, we were able to fully focus on her intonation and pronunciation,
hoping that the examiner will be able to hear her information correctly.
And the fact that most of these lessons were made via Zoom made her more comfortable.
We had no problem trying to fix her posture, voice tone and other factors that could possibly affect the outcome during the class.
Under very specific instruction, she managed to paraphrase the main ideas from the literacy and informational texts.
This practice enabled her to communicate fluently in a variety of situations.
She was also encouraged to speak in her own language using her vocabulary while utilizing keywords we learned in each lesson.
In addition to the limited time she had to prepare for the interview, the main challenge was to ensure she felt confident and comfortable with her answers while maintaining a positive attitude.
She had a limited vocabulary and had a tendency to forget what we reviewed in class.
The student passed her admission test for International school in Jeju by practicing in various ways, making sure she understood every point and taking notes on keywords.
